Auction markets across Australia saw robust levels of activity over the weekend, according to figures from CoreLogic.
Capitals hosted 2,876 auctions over the weekend, yielding a preliminary success rate of 80.4%. These figures were significantly higher than the auction volume of 2,087 the previous weekend and the final clearance rate of 77.2%.
Of all the capital cities, Sydney saw the largest increase in activity, with auction volume increasing from 794 to 1,121, of which 83.5% turned into sale.
Melbourne was the busiest capital, hosting 1,277 auctions over the weekend. Of the results collected, 77.1% were successful.
Perth achieved the highest customs clearance rate at 92.3%, but only for an auction volume of 22.
Canberra also reported a strong clearance rate of 90.6% for 120 auctions.
