About two-thirds of new housing in Sydney over the next five years is expected to be built in western Sydney, according to the latest projections from the Property Council of Australia.
The expected number of new homes in west Sydney places it "at the heart of future growth," said Ross Grove, regional director of the Property Council of Australia.
"The emerging centers of west Sydney are undergoing rapid transformation. We are witnessing a change in perception of the region and residents have every reason to be excited about the future which waiting for them, "said Grove.

Four of the five council areas with the largest number of new housing units planned are in western Sydney, with Blacktown and Parramatta topping the list.
"West Sydney Aerotropolis and the growing shopping centers of Parramatta and Liverpool are essential to boost local jobs, reduce journey times and redefine perceptions of style options of life available in our area, "said Grove.
